Organic Spelt
Considered an ancient grain, spelt is one of the founding members of the wheat family and is high in protein and nutrients. These dehulled dark blonde kernels are slightly larger than wheat, and possess a light, nutty, mild flavor. Also known as farro grande, spelt is a delicious and versatile ingredient with lower gluten levels than modern wheat, making it easier to digest. Try it as a whole grain in salads, soups, or porridge, or milled and used in breads, cookies, muffins, quick breads, pan breads, pizza, piecrusts, flatbreads, and pastas. Spelt is a good source of protein, dietary fibers, phosphorous, and manganese.
