Stuffed Pizza Pull-Apart Bread

Stuffed Pizza Pull-Apart Bread

Homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (105–110°F) (240 g)

  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (7 g)

  • 1 tsp sugar (4 g)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (28 g)

  • 2½–3 cups all-purpose flour (300–360 g)

  • 1 tsp salt (6 g)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand 5–10 minutes, until cloudy or lightly foamy.

  2. Add olive oil, salt, and 2½ cups (300 g) flour. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

  3. Knead 4–6 minutes, adding flour 1 tablespoon at a time as needed, until dough is smooth and slightly tacky.

  4. Lightly oil the bowl, cover, and let rise 45–60 minutes, until puffed and noticeably larger.

Filling & Assembly

Ingredients

  • ½–¾ cup thick pizza sauce (120–180 g)

  • ¾–1 cup shredded mozzarella (85–115 g)

  • ½ cup chopped pepperoni (55–70 g)

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (28 g)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder or Italian seasoning (1–2 g)

  • Optional topping:

    • Extra mozzarella (30–40 g) or grated parmesan (15–20 g)

Assembly & Baking

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.

  2. Divide risen dough into 12–16 equal pieces (about golf-ball sized).

  3. Flatten each piece slightly. Add ½–1 teaspoon pizza sauce, a pinch of mozzarella, and a few pieces of pepperoni.

  4. Pinch edges tightly to seal and roll into a smooth ball.

  5. Brush dough balls lightly with butter, garlic powder, & Italian seasoning mixture.

  6. Arrange dough balls in a single layer in the prepared pan, leaving small gaps between pieces. Let rise for an additional 30 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with additional cheese, if desired.

  7. Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden on top and cooked through. If browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil.

  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Happy Baking!
