This delicious Heart-Shaped Pizza was made by our Customer Experience Specialist, Alyssa, who was inspired by a pizza dough recipe from @pizzofart on Instagram!
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Fairhaven Mill 100% Organic '00 Pizza Flour
- ½ tsp. Yeast
- 2 Cups Water (105-110 degrees)
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 2 heaping cups of Fairhaven Mill 100% Organic Whole Grain Fine Ground Bread Flour
- 1 Tbsp. or more of Fairhaven Mill 100% Organic Whole Grain Yellow Cornmeal for dusting on the pizza peel
Directions:
1. Mix pizza flour, yeast, water, and salt with a whisk until the dough looks like pancake batter.
2. Add in 2 heaping cups of fine ground bread flour. Mix by hand with 2 fingers, to keep the rest of your hand clean, until there are few lumps, and the dough looks like a shaggy ball.
3. Allow dough to rest 4-6 hours at room temperature. You can store longer in the fridge for 24-72 hours for even more flavor.
4. After bulk fermentation wet hands and flip dough onto a floured surface.
5. Fold over and knead 3 times.
6. Cut into equal pieces and shape into balls by pushing and pulling with your hands. Add more flour if needed. This should make two 16 inch or four 12 inch pizzas.
7. Let the dough balls rest 60-90 minutes and preheat your oven at its highest temperature, or use a method that is easy for you. (** See notes)
8. Shape dough balls into a heart on a pizza peel generously sprinkled with Yellow Cornmeal.
9. Top the pizza with sauce, cheese, vegetables, and meats! (*** see notes)
10. Bake 7-10 minutes checking and turning the pizza half way through.
11. Carefully remove the pizza from the baking stone and let rest 2-3 minutes.
12. Enjoy!
** There are different ways to bake pizza, I use a pizza stone and preheat the stone at 550. You can also use a baking sheet or pizza oven, however, crust results may vary.
***Get creative with your favorite toppings! If too much moisture gets between the pizza and the peel the dough sticks to the peel and won’t slide onto the pizza stone.
Happy Baking!
